Improving Our Communities by Transforming Our Correctional Systems
At Fresh Path Media, we share a passionate determination to help the world shift into a safer and more positive place for current and future generations. The United States is the most incarcerated country in the world with a recidivism rate that is unacceptable by any standards. The question then becomes, what can we do to better prepare the incarcerated individuals for their reintegration, having made lasting changes to their way of thinking and even inspiring them to new possibilities for their life and the contributions they can make upon their return to society. The Answer? We need to change the environment in which they live to include strong, positive, constructive information and conversations. Our purpose is to collect, create, and critique this content, make it readily available and affordable, and track its effectiveness through data collection. In most cases, inmates do not choose to seek positive programs, either because they don’t see the possible difference it could make, or because of peer pressure. Our philosophy is akin to “when the student is ready, the teacher appears,” however we enable the teacher to be ever present.
